Alpine skiing – Doing it different

March 15th, 2010 · 1 Comment

Last week was pretty bad one. 2 races a day (sometimes this meant 4 runs a day) all the way from Tuesday to Sunday. When you count this all together, this brings one helluwa lot of photos. This was reason why I wanted to do it a bit different.

Shooting alpine skiing

March 5th, 2010 · 6 Comments

I have been asked quite few times about tips when shooting skiing. Since sometimes I don’t feel like writing or explaining this over and over again, I finally decided to write thing or two about this. I’m not going to be writing about aperture and time settings, about white balance or about right AF mode. I guess everyone know this already, so I will rather write about things, which are not so obvious and are specific for shooting skiing.

Something else then just skiing… Handball and volleyball Champions Leagues

February 15th, 2010 · 1 Comment

Olympics started, and since I’m not there, and probably will never be, I have month off. This doesn’t mean I don’t do anything, but I do have some more time to do things I love. Yeah after spending almost all my life on skis, I still love skiing, and spending time on skis is best thing I can get. But there’s more then this, and even though there’s no skiing, I still need to make some money. So I need to shoot something else then just skiing, and in this case it was CEV Indesit volleyball Champions league, and EHF women handball Champions league.

Month of REST!!

February 2nd, 2010 · No Comments

Alpine skiing World cup in Kranjska Gora is over, January is over, and now it’s time for me to get some rest. With more then 12 or 13 alpine skiing World cup races in January, you can imagine how it feels to finally have week in front of me, when I can be home for weekend with my wife, and when my only early morning/late night coming home is due my weekly ice hockey “practice”.

On the road

January 13th, 2010 · No Comments

This skiing season is really crazy due Olympic games, and not even one single World cup race in February 2010. Therefore, most of FIS Alpine skiing World cup races are concentrated on few weeks between middle of December and end of January.

December 4th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Card readers are something noone of us really likes, but we still can’t live without them. After spending few years with Sandisk Extreme USB reader, it was time to get something faster. Only option was one of very few available Firewire800 readers.
