Long spring, summer…. :)

It has been a while since my last post. Looking to date of last post (February 26th) feels a little bit more then just a while, and on the other side it feels like time is flying by. Alpine ski racing in FIS World cup – Part 2

After last entry, post 1 about alpine skiing World Cup, there’s coming sequence number 2 about same subject :)
Winter is time, when we cover mostly skiing, so there’s nothing much to write about something else. Since my last entry, there were few more races on program, and we have been covering races in Maribor, Zauchensee, Garmisch and Tarvisio in between.

Alpine ski racing in FIS World cup – Part 1

Winter is in its full extent, and FIS World cup races are following one another. It’s been quite crazy since middle of December, but nevertheless it’s fun… even if there wasn’t much time for actually going skiing myself, and even less for updating this blog.

End of the year and real start of skiing World cups

Year is ending, and for me, season of shooting skiing World cups is just about to get really started. With two GS races on Rettenbach glacier above Soelden, season of FIS Alpine skiing World cup started on end of October, but after that, skiers traveled across the ocean to North American Tour. And now they are back in middle Europe.

Soelden, first stop in Alpine skiing World cup 2008-09

Soelden and two giant slalom races on Rettenbach glacier on end of October, are traditional start to FIS Alpine skiing World Cup. This year it wasn’t anything different, except that weather played with us and we had beautiful and busy weekend on Rettenbach glacier.

Skiing season starts

It’s still fall, but in few days, new skiing season will take off. With two GS races in Soelden, Austria, alpine skiing season 2008-09 will take off on weekend between 25th and 26th of October.
